What you talkin' bout....

It is amazing to me how much Thomas has changed in just 7 weeks. Just last week even he would just eat and go right back to sleep. Now he is awake and alert and talking... He got a smile that melts my heart everytime no matter if it is 1:00 pm or 1:00am.

Our Precious Gracie Girl

Our little lady had her 15 month check up on Friday. She is growing so much and I am just amazed at how much she is learning and how quickly she picks up on things. Tommy had to be at work early on Friday so I took Gracie and Thomas to the doctor by myself. Thankfully Thomas slept the whole time. I was afraid he would be awake and crying and Gracie would be crying after she got her shots and I would have to try and hold both of them to calm everyone down. Luckily I didn't have too.

As Gracie was being checked out by her doctor he was looking over all of the her measurements and was a little concerned with the circumference of her head. Yes, Gracie was born with a big head and at every doctors appointment it has been between the 95th and 100th percentile. But the last two appointments our doctor was concerned that the growth was not leveling out. So at this checkup he told me that her head was still getting bigger and that made him a little concerned that possible the flow of fluid around her brain was not flowing properly therefore making her head larger.

Now he was not 100% sure that there was a problem. So he suggested that maybe we wait 3 months and then if her growth is still increasing we need to have it checked out. Therefore, I went home and called Tommy to tell him about the appointment and what the doctor had to say. After thinking long and hard about it I really wasn't comfortable waiting 3 months to figure out if something was wrong. I called the doctor back and asked if we should just go ahead and have the scan done now instead a waiting. He agreed that would be fine. So, Gracie will be having a CT scan done sometime soon at MUSC and we really could use your prayers.

Tommy is very confident that nothing is wrong and that she just has her daddy's big head. Me on the other hand am nervous and just want everything to be fine with my precious Gracie.

Whopper....

We have a whopper in our family. Not a small fry, not a big mac a WHOPPER! Thomas had his 2 week check up today and he is gaining weight quickly. The doctor was very happy with his numbers. When he was born he weighed 8lbs. 10oz and when we left the hospital he weighed 8lbs. 3oz. Today he is 9lbs. 1oz! Almost a pound in 2 weeks. So that puts him in the 75% for weight and he is in between the 75th and 95th percentile for height. He is going to be just like his daddy if not bigger. Last night was awesome. He went to bed at 9:45-10ish and didn't get up till 3:00 and ate then didn't get up again till 7:45am. WOW! We couldn't ask for anything better out of a two week old!!!!

We will keep you updated on the whole Martin Family. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

A few pictures

I must say we are doing great! I can't believe it has been almost two weeks since I had Thomas. He has is first doctors appointment on Wednesday and I am very curious to see how much he weighs. He eats so much. Way different then Gracie. Surprisingly we are getting a lot of sleep at night which is a huge blessing since Gracie is wide open all day long. He only wakes up once sometimes twice at night to eat and goes right back to sleep! WONDERFUL!! Well I will leave you with a couple of pictures and will update after Thomas' appointment!

Home Sweet Home

Oh, how things have changed at the Martin household. For the better of course!! Thomas is doing wonderful. We got home on Thursday last week and have been adjusting everyday to our new family. Gracie loves her brother very much and wants to hold him and play with him but doesn't completely understand when we tell her to be she needs to be gentle he is a baby. She is not completely adjusted to him coming into her life but she is slowly getting better. She has her whining moments and sometimes has a melt down when Tommy or I leave the room or even when we just simply correct her for doing something she is not suppose too. Hopefully that will change here soon! Thomas is eating very well and sleeping alot. Fortunately he has only been getting up twice at night to eat. That has been a huge blessing for Tommy and I. We are so thankful for a new member of the family and praise God for his safe arrival and good health. Here are a few pictures.
