We are Pregnant!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. Things have been crazy and I haven't had time or even thought about blogging. Well, I know most of you already know that Tommy and I found out about three weeks ago that we are expecting our second child. We are super excited!! I will tell you that this time around I have felt much more different then I did with Gracie. I have felt a lot more nausea and have been picker in what I eat. I think it has a lot to do with feeling nausea. Or maybe I have just forgotten.

A little update on the family!
Tommy: He has been busy working and this week his grandparents have come into town from Ohio to celebrate with us on Sunday Gracie's Dedication.

Katie: I have been busy with Gracie. We have been trying to do some of our Christmas shopping and have made some progress but still have a few people left on the list to buy for. I am also in the tired stage of pregnancy and when Gracie gets up once or twice at night it makes my day feel even longer. I have been trying to get naps but it is very hard to nap when you feel like there is so much around the house to be done.

Gracie: Well about three weeks ago we noticed that Gracie was very fussy and hard to deal with for about two days and all of a sudden out pops a tooth. Problem solved! Then this past Monday when we finished giving Gracie a bath and I was dressing her for bed I noticed out of no where a second tooth beside the first. WOW! Where did that come from? So yes our little one has gotten the front two teeth for Christmas!!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Race for the Cure

This past Saturday my mom, my grandmother, my sister and I ran/walked in the 15 annual Race for the Cure to support breast cancer. There were over 6800 people in the race. Even though it rained and I was freezing for most of the day it was all worth it watching my grandmother who is a breast cancer survivor walk across the finish line.
My sister Allie and I walking across the finish line!!! Poor Mama she looks worn out!

Hard Times

So the past few weeks have been quite difficult and we have been noticing that my milk supply has been slowly decreasing. My doctor put me on a medicine to help my milk supply and it did not work :( We were having to supplement with formula maybe once or twice a day until Wednesday this week my milk completely stopped. I was very upset not only because I couldn't feed my child like I was used too, now I don't have that bonding time her. She did okay for the few times we supplemented but as soon as formula was the only thing she was getting to drink she gave us a run for our money.

As you all know she has a small figure and we were concerned that maybe she wasn't getting enough breast milk and now we know she wasn't because mom wasn't making enough to fill her little belly. But as of yesterday she is now adjusted to formula and is taking the bottle very well. I must tell you that my husband was amazing. It has been really hard on me emotionally and very upsetting when I couldn't get her to eat for 5-6 hours straight. I was at a loss for what to do next and called the doctor at least 5 times crying, stressed out and asking what do I do my baby will not eat. But Tommy continued to encourage me and tell me things are going to be fine and Gracie will eat and we can not allow ourselves to get stressed out. So I am now proud of my Gracie girl who is eating wonderfully. :)

Family

My cousin Gretchen had twins about a month after I had Gracie and Gracie got to meet her cousins for the first time this past weekend. Their names are Hadley(the girl) and Finley(the boy). We think Finley and Gracie look very similar.

Edisto Beach

Well, we just returned from a three day vacation to Edisto Beach. Tommy, his dad and good friend Marcus were drawn for a deer hunt on Edisto given by DNR this past week. Tommy's mom Dawn, my good friend Katie and myself got the chance to relax at a beach house for three days and enjoy the beautiful weather. The time away was much needed and having time to lay on the beach was amazing!!! The Lord provided wonderful weather and we give him many thanks for that. And yes the guys were sucessful in their hunt. Tommy shot a ten point, Marcus shot a eight point and Tom got a seven point. Three very happy men. Here are a few pictures of Gracie and her buddy Jackson at the beach house.

4 Month Check up and Veggies!

Well, on Monday we had Gracie's four month check up. It went really well except for the shots. She was not a happy camper when we left the doctors. She is gaining weight perfectly. We were a little concerned there for a while but everything has turned for the better. We have also started eating VEGGIES! And as you can tell in the pictures she is not a fan of Green beans.

Dr. Seuss is my Favorite

After family worship Gracie enjoys being read Dr. seuss before bedtime. Her favorite book (that we can tell) is "Oh, the Thinks you can Think!". It has bright, colorful pages full of pictures to look at. I do believe she enjoys them too.

All the reading and looking at fun pages made Gracie very very sleepy!!

Cooper River Bridge

My friend Katie Carter and I walked the Cooper River Bridge with Gracie & Jackson and it is great. If you have never walked across the bridge I definitely recommend it. It is wonderful exercise and a great site to see. Here is a picture of Jackson ( Katie's Son who is 6 months). All that walking made him sleepy.

We love our Cereal

There is no clean way of eating it.
But it's okay we like being messy!

2 Month Check Up

Well, Gracie had her 2 month doctors visit this morning and it went amazing! She is so strong and cried for maybe 3 seconds and quit. I would have been balling my eyes out if that was me. Everything else went great. She weighs 9lbs 12ounces and is in the 25Th percentile. And she is 23 1/2 inches long and in the 90Th percentile. Dr. Stadalsky(who is wonderful) said she will be a very tall girl obviously getting it from her dad!
