Easter

This was Thomas' first Easter and he didn't have a clue as to what was going on but his sister on the other hand. Gracie woke up to find a fun candy filled Easter basket Sunday morning and wanted nothing more all day except candy! We went to the flowering of the cross at church and then after church we went to my mom's for Easter dinner. After dinner we walked to my grandmothers a few house down and had a very enjoyable Easter egg hunt. It only took Gracie about 10 seconds to figure out there was candy hidden all over the yard. Needless to say we have way more candy at our house then anyone would ever need. Here are a couple of pictures to show you the family!

Finally....

We have had many things going on in the Martin household lately! Way to many to be exact! After a good week and a half  the kids are finally feeling better. Gracie started off with this crazy high fever that lasted almost five whole day and would never go down then Thomas got it and luckily it only lasted 48 hours or so with him. After all the sickness went away we had some exciting news. Thomas finally figured out how to crawl! YEAH! He is still testing the waters and is pretty slow about it but he can get from point A to point B. Also this week he had his first piece of toast, some cut up strawberries, yogurt and other fun fruit. He is getting big. Also Gracie made her own little discovery this week. How to lock and unlock the back door. For those of you that don't know we have a large pond in our backyard and no fence between us and the pond. So after Gracie figured out how to open and close the back door I thought it was still okay because I could always lock it but not anymore. When she feels like going outside and I tell her not right now what happens she takes it upon herself to go out since she is such a big girl. Lastly I went to Harris Teeter this week for triples and did the best I have ever done since I started couponing. I got a $123.65 worth of groceries and only spent $40. 12. WOW! I was so excited and the little cashier just rolled her eyes at me and giggled!

Crafts

To start off I am by no means a crafty person. I like to think I am and I do love making things but my problem is finishing them. I will get so excited about starting something and jump in feet first but when it comes to finishing it that is where I am horrible. So lately I have gotten on this kick about making this for the kiddos. Here are just a couple of things I have done the last couple days.

"Gracie's Easter Basket"
(side note: I just the Pottery Barn Kids catalog in the mail last week and it has the exact same baskets with your childs name on it for 40 something dollars and I thought I would love that but no way am I paying that much for a Easter Basket that will only have candy in it once a year! So I made it and I am having someone monogram it for $5.00. Total price: $13.50!!!)

Gracie's new apron! She loves helping cook but she gets so messy... Problem solved!

Coupon Crazy

Tommy will tell you all I have been couponing like crazy.... I love it! It has become a big game to me. I love going to the store and seeing how much stuff I can get for the least amount of money! Check out my last CVS trip! Only spent $4.04 out of pocket!!! WHOA!!!

(3 bottles of Pantene Shampoo, 2 Nivea Body Washes, 2 Gillette Mens Body Wash, 1 Dove Mens body wash, 1 bottle of Listerine Mouth Wash and I tube of Colgate toothpaste)

Our Snow Day!

Whoa! Can you believe it! It snowed in Charleston.... I love snow probably just as much as your kids do... At first Gracie didn't quite know what to think but she quickly let us know she loved it too!

New Addition to the Martin Family

We have a new addition to our family. Gracie got a FISH! Tommy has been wanting a big fish tank with lots of fish in it because he thinks Gracie will really like it. But mommy decided to try a cheap $1.99 fish first before we buy a big fish tank with lots of expensive fish in it. Gracie has named her Abby. Do ask me why!! I think it has to do with Abby on the Elmo show. We will see how long "Abby" last :)
